AUCKLAND WRITERS FESTIVAL 2021

  • Strange Goods Bookstore 281 Karangahape Road Auckland, Auckland, 1010 New Zealand (map)

FROM THE AUCKLAND WRITERS FESTIVAL PROGRAMME:

Writers hit the streets in and around Auckland’s Karangahape Road in the Festival’s Friday night extravaganza of literary treats. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s full of surprises. In The Green Dolphin bookshop writers unveil their personal daemons; Snapchat Dude aka Tom Sainsbury presents characters from his book New Zealanders: A Field Guide from behind the Checks Downtown curtain; Haru Sameshima’s photography studio hosts a Shining Land; beautiful new poems come hot off an old press in Cross Street’s The Warren; odd photos of the street inspire short fictions in Strange Goods; writers reveal the punchline on their t-shirt in Beautiful Things; and the public puzzles over poems to win prizes on the Karangahape Road, Pitt Street and Mercury Lane intersection.

Join our extraordinary line-up of writers: Pip Adam, Melani Anae, Michael Botur, Jack Remiel Cottrell, Ted Dawe, Saraid de Silva, Susanna Gendall, Steff Green, Siobhan Harvey, Joshua Iosefo-Williams, Nathan Joe, Stephanie Johnson, Graham Judd, Daren Kamali, Graci Kim, Arihia Latham, Lynette Leong, Theo Macdonald, Bill Manhire, Ria Masae, Amy McDaid, Laura Jean McKay, Pip McKay, Kirsten McKenzie, Danyl McLauchlan, Tara McLeod, Jacquie McRae, Kyle Mewburn, Fardowsa Mohamed, Paula Morris, Elizabeth Morton, Michel Mulipola, Jackson Nieuwland, Richard Pamatatau, Leanne Radojkovich, essa may ranapiri, Rebecca K Reilly, Tom Sainsbury, Haru Sameshima, Fiona Sussman, Zirk van den Berg and Agatha Zaza.
