NEWCASTLE NOIR

This hugely popular literary weekend is returning for its seventh year. Newcastle Noir 2020 will be held at Newcastle City Library.

Some of the UK’s best-loved crime writers, many from the region, will be present alongside authors from more than a dozen other countries.

The full programme of speakers and guests will be announced soon but Northumbria University lecturer, Jacky Collins, Dr Noir, who has spear-headed the event since its launch, promises there will be something for every kind of crime fiction follower.

She said: “From the very beginning we have always wanted Newcastle Noir to be a local, national and international crime fiction event.

AUCKLAND ARTS FESTIVAL WHITE NIGHT

The Auckland Arts Festival White Night is a unique opportunity to see Auckland enlivened with a diverse range of arts activities.

For one night only, artists take over the city. Inspired by Nuit Blanche (Paris’s White Night), it’s a time for gathering friends and family under the night sky and stroll through your local neighbourhood to engage with well-known artists and artistic newbies. For free.

Kirsten McKenzie will be appearing with irreverent retro fiction author Andrene Low at Auckland's iconic Antique Alley, halfway down Dominion Road. Together Kirsten and Andrene will be holding live readings, and running Author Q&A's about their writing and publishing journeys.

We'd love to see you there. We'll be live from 6pm until nearly midnight...
